No, not 50... more like three and in the form of clothing. I started to read that book two years ago and never finished, as I do with most books. I'd rather just go see the movie. I'm not much of a reader although that is one of my goals, to pick up a book every now and then, I usually will go see a movie first and then pick up a series depending on how I enjoyed the story line. Totally backwards, I know. But that's just how I work.
Even though I like to complicate some things in my life - like movies before books, I always gravitate toward a simple state of mind when getting dressed. I wanted the spotlight on a pair of shoes I have been saving for for a few months, so I decided on a muted palette for an unexpected twist. While most would probably choose all black or jeans and a pretty top, I chose gray! For a gal on a budget these were probably the most expensive shoes I have ever purchased. With the exception of purses (because there should be no limit on a great handbag. duh) most of my wardrobe, I spend under $50 for each piece, but these came out to be a whopping $105!! Ahhhh. Because I saved for these it was that much more exciting when I got to slip them on for a dinner out with my husband.
If you really want an item, and have had your eye on it for a few months and just cannot stop thinking about it, I say go for it! It's okay to splurge on specialty items, like purses, a great pair of shoes (especially in a leopard print), and a classic pair of denim. But like I said, just make sure it's something you really really want so that the times you wear it far outweigh the price you paid.
Chris and I are still on vacation right now, which is why I haven't posted in a little over a week. I'm not the best blogger but when we like to have fun, we like to have fun... and time with my husband is always more important than taking outfit pictures or staring at the computer screen when there are places to explore. I promise next week will be back to regular posting.
